December 2015 to February 2017 – Chinese Migrations to Glasgow – Collections Research Project
In my role as a co-curator of this project, I worked in collaboration with Glasgow Museums Curator Alastair Callaghan to successfully identify and develop Glasgow Museums’ understanding of objects held within their collections that are associated with the Glasgow Chinese migration.
Through a process of consultation with various community groups, objects were identified and community knowledge was recorded and connected to items that relate to stories of the Glasgow Chinese migration.
Upon the re-opening of the Kelvin Hall in 2016, the identified objects and images were displayed alongside the stories of Polish and Scottish Highlander migrations to Glasgow in one of several showcase exhibitions.
2016 to 2017 – Provided advice for display at Glasgow Museums Resource Centre, Scotland
After donating a Dragonboat head-prow and tail to Glasgow Museums, I advised on the different stages of conservation of these items and provided support for the development of a Dragonboat display at the Glasgow Museums Resource Centre.
